Oh wow! Today is Dec. 29th! It is almost 2017!! Let's see if I can catch up real quick.

Well, June 10th we celebrated quietly of our 38th wedding anniversary. Staying married these days is quite an accomplishment. I am seeing more and more couples divorcing before or close to their 10 years of marriage. Sad. You gotta be tough, people. If you love someone then most times you gotta fight for your marriage. If you flat out do not love them then I guess you just go ahead and split the sheets. Ok, end of that subject.

June for me was sad. My sisters and I put our mother in a nursing home. Mom was well aware of what was happening and actually was pleased of the transition. Unfortunately, a week after being their she suffered oxygen deprivation during the night. Three weeks later she died. She was 81. June was a terrible month for me in so many ways.
Happier times. Christmas 2014
The rest of the summer was basically babysitting my grandmonsters. The weather was hot and dry. We did not have a good garden but I did manage to make a few pickles.
We finally got a pool! It is huge and deep and the grandmonsters loved it. So I am looking forward to a new deck for the pool and lots of swimming fun!

September was a busy time getting ready for Vintage Market Days in Oct. Then end of September we always have our annual Pollard Family Reunion. It was a great time as always. It was sad not having mama there. We have three aunts left as all the other aunts and uncles have passed away. Aunt Inez got to have another birthday! She was diagnosed with cancer in the spring and we didn't know if she would lived to see that 99th birthday but she did. And she is still alive as I post this blog. Doing well, I might add. She is the oldest of all the Pollard siblings.
Aunt Inez and me at her 99th birthday party.

Oct.2016  Hubby and I went on vacation up through MO.,Ill.,Indiana, Kentucky (to visit the ARK), West VA, VA, Tenn.(Gatlinburg) Arkansas then home. He drove the entire time. It was a good trip. I will have to say I enjoyed Virginia and would have like to have seen more small towns. But Gatlinburg area was gorgeous with the fall foliage. It's unfortunate about the devastating fires there in Dec.

November is always birthday month for the two oldest. Then Thanksgiving. It was nice.
Our family was thrilled to see Donald J Trump win the Presidential Election!! Exciting times.
Pack your  bags Barry Soetoro and Michele. And hurry up about it.

Dec. is always busy almost to the point of not enjoying it. But we had lots of Christmas time. I was able to spend time with all my kiddos (my heartbeat).

So here we are at the end of the year. I have no great plans for next year. I mostly want to grow beautiful flowers and delicious veggies. I would love to take up painting again.

I painted this of our neighbor's longhorn. Ended up giving it to them for Christmas.
I like doing things like that.

Who knows what Bunderosa Queen will do next? Who knows?

   Happy New Year to all!

Another Fall Vintage Market Days in the plans

Hello lovies, I took a little break this Spring from doing any shows and I have missed it terribly! And there are Vintage Market Days shows everywhere now! I wish I could do them all. But I can't. boohoo!
But this one is on my Fall calendar...
https://vintagemarketdays.com/Market/tulsa/home
I am really excited about the theme too...WELCOME HOME
Did you know that there is a city called Welcome Home in Arkansas? Doesn't that sound so comforting? Like, can you smell the aroma of apple pie at the thought of Welcome Home, Arkansas?
And another thing, back in the day when I home schooled my little munchkins we named our school Welcome Home Grade School. So there you have it... Vintage Market Days show this fall in Kellyville at the Creek County Fairgrounds is just meant to be for me. I'll be bringing lots of new things!
I hope you will follow me on facebook.com/bunderosaqueen for all updates between now and Oct 14-16, 2016!

Resting and Refocusing

It has been a while since I have posted anything and I feel I should apologize. A year ago around this time I had my KIA all loaded and ready to head out early the next morning to be a part of the THE OLD CHICKEN FARM VINTAGE BARN SALE. That evening my mother was taken to the ER because of breathing difficulties related to 63 years of smoking. We did not know if she would be coming home. I cancelled my show, mom went back to her home and has been in poor health to this day. With that and helping take care of grandchildren my cup did runneth over. I closed my booth at River City Trading Post and opted out of most shows. I did, however, do the Fall Vintage Market Days show in Kellyville but nothing else up to this point. I miss my little business and would like to start it up with some fresh, new items.
I love making clothing, I really do but I also love creating home decor items, funny cards, upcycling old things, etc. much more than making clothes. I know there is a big market in clothing but being the only seamstress and trying to have several sizes available takes a huge amount of my time. I am first a wife, a mom and a grandma. I still have an ailing mother that I want to spend time with. Anyway, I plan to do the Fall 2016 Vintage Market Days show. Thank you so much for taking time to read this and for your understanding.

A Brand New Year! 2015!

I'm starting the year off with some new clothes for Spring. I love repurposing old linens, vintage sheets and covers for my clothes. There are so many beautiful patterns and textures. The fabric is broke in and soft. Perfect AND less expensive then fabric store fabrics by the yard! Also perfect for one of a kind pieces. Who wants to wear the same clothes that someone else's wearing? Not me!

This top went fast but there will be more of this type to come!
This is a new top pattern that I'm using this Spring/Summer

 Vintage chenille pantaloons!

This is a Tina Givens design that I made for myself.
Unfortunately, it didn't fit me!

Another Tina Givens jacket that I made for myself.
I love her patterns and decided that I would redo my whole wardrobe using much of her patterns.

CARNIVAL DAYS with Vintage Market Days 2014

It was CARNIVAL DAYS with VINTAGE MARKET DAYS! What a great show! The energy there was so FUN! I loved decorating my booth for this show. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the all the colors, the pumpkins, the food, the trees...I could go on and on. But back to this show.
So,here you see the pillow cover that I used as a banner that is hanging on my tent. It was made by one of the guys with The Feathered Nest from Missouri. I love it!

My booth

Some of my clothing on display

Don't you just love this?!

I loved all the shoppers that came in.

Lots of one of a kind Bunderosa Queen clothes!

How about a Halloween card? or a very cool book?

Do you need a shabby fabric pins or a feather crown?

or a giant burlap pumpkin?

A pile of goodies to take to the show.

I introduced these shabby, gypsy style jumpsuits at this show.

This leopard coat was snagged up early in the show.
Of course it was!
It was gorgeous but I needed to part with it.
It was bit to small for me. ;)

This pillow is one of my favorite creations. Have you ever seen such a romantic looking couple.
I found this photo in a stack of pictures I bought at the thrift store.

Feather Crown

Vintage Market Days always has wonderful live entertainment!

Two of the most beautiful people I know. My two youngest kiddos.

Yours truly.
